Mental health charity release book to celebrate black brits

Risen have released a black British culture inspired adult colouring book to celebrate black British culture and help people deal with stress & anxiety

MENTAL HEALTH Charity Risen have produced an adult colouring book to help people deal with stress, anxiety and depression.

Risen Co Founder, Chantelle Lewis says: ‘We really wanted to release this book to provide people with a practical tool to help to keep their mind at ease and freely express themselves.

“We chose to feature images of black British culture to help to raise awareness and acceptance of the experiences that many black Britons can relate too.

“Representation is so important, it is good that people can colour in images that they can relate to and will bring up positive emotions in them.”

Research has shown that colouring is a great source of self-expression and can help ease symptoms of mental illnesses.

Risen have released this book to help people and to also raise funds to continue their charitable work to break the stigma around mental health in the black community and host events next year including mental health pop up service events.

The book is only £5.99 which includes postage and is available on their website www.risenuk.com now.
